About Me

My name is Anibal Damião and this is my blog. The world would never be the same after history was made in 1979, somewhere in Portugal.

Fastforward to 2006 trough the most important event of my life, which a few people know (or need to care) about..

In 2006 and after a sweet warm-up in a Executive Training in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, I decided to move to Copenhagen to take an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) in Copenhagen Business School. After that I basically started working in ADtomic Communications, the coolest Communication Agency in Denmark (some say in the world and surroundings…). I’m still there today working to change the world of New Media while (trying to do some) sailing, doing some projects on the side and enjoying the city of the liiitle mermaid.

My background

I am a Computer Scientist by soul and took a degree in Computers Engineering at Universidade de Évora, in a small town in Portugal. My interest for everything that moves around IT led me to several experiences but ultimately to take an MBA in Copenhagen. Why? IT can’t leave a mark without considering user needs, Clients, Communication, Market insights, Strategy, Context, business models…

ADtomic Communication, my Agency

Well, it’s not mine, but it is as if. ADtomic is a full-service Communication Agency. We work with major Danish brands with international profiles like Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk and Novozymes. We are around 50 working in different areas like Communication and Brand Strategy, Events, Campaign execution, Shopper Insights, …., and of course New Media :)

I am currently responsible for the New Media department in ADtomic. We are a small team of developers but our work goes beyond that. We do strategy, concept development and execution, involving different areas. We mostly do what it takes to satisfy our clients.

Damiansen (?)

You may wonder… What the heck, Damiansen? Well, my last name is Damião (ão is unprunouncable in Danish by the way). Damiansen because a friend from Portugal was always calling me that when I moved to Denmark. Damião + sen… got it? Great :-)
